The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has priced a US$1.5 billion dual-tranche senior unsecured Eurobond, marking the institution's largest-ever bond issuance.

The deal represents a significant return to the US dollar public markets for the bank, which had not issued public bonds since July 2021.

This issuance follows a similar successful dual-tranche Eurobond offering by the Democratic Republic of Congo, which raised US$1.

The successful pricing underscores continued investor appetite for high-quality African financial instruments despite a complex global rate environment.

The dual-tranche structure allows the bank to tap into a broader investor base by offering varying maturities, a strategy that has proven effective for other emerging market issuers.

This issuance follows a similar successful dual-tranche Eurobond offering by the Democratic Republic of Congo, which raised US$1.25 billion in its inaugural public debt sale.

Both deals highlight a growing trend of African entities leveraging structured offerings to secure long-term funding at competitive rates.
