Bank Mandiri is leveraging its Livin' digital banking platform to deepen support for Indonesia's blue carbon ecosystems, coinciding with World Mangrove Day.

The initiative aims to mobilize broader participation in mangrove conservation, capitalizing on the country's status as home to the world's largest mangrove area, which spans approximately 3.45 million hectares according to the 2025 National Mangrove Map.

This move aligns with the bank's broader sustainability strategy, which has seen its sustainable financing portfolio grow to Rp 327.3 trillion as of June 2026.

By embedding conservation tools within its consumer-facing app, Mandiri seeks to bridge the gap between institutional green finance and individual engagement in environmental preservation.

The bank has recently expanded its focus on financial inclusion and circular economy initiatives, including the 'Mandiri Looping for Life' program launched at the INACRAFT 2026 festival.

These efforts reflect a strategic shift toward integrating ESG principles into core business operations, targeting resilience for small business owners and local communities.
