Shares of Bank of America (BAC.N) retreated in late trading Friday after French prosecutors confirmed the detention of a 24-year-old Belgian woman in connection with a foiled terrorist attack targeting the bank's Paris headquarters.
The suspect, who resides in Liège, was handed over by Belgian authorities and placed in pre-trial detention in Paris, according to reports from La Libre Belgique and Channel NewsAsia.
The arrest brings the total number of individuals formally charged and held in provisional detention in the case to five, including two minors, the Paris National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) stated.
The plot, which was disrupted in late March, involved plans to attack the bank's offices in the French capital.
