BUA Group is committing approximately $85 million to expand its BUA Ports and Terminals facility in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

The investment is designed to increase the terminal's capacity to handle more than 2 million tonnes of cargo, a move that underscores the conglomerate's strategy to secure critical import logistics amid growing regional trade volumes.

The expansion targets a significant uplift in throughput capability, allowing the group to process larger volumes of raw materials and finished goods.

By scaling up infrastructure at one of Nigeria's key maritime hubs, BUA Group is positioning itself to mitigate supply chain bottlenecks that have historically constrained industrial output in the region.

This development aligns with broader expectations from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), which has forecast double-digit growth in cargo throughput and revenue.

The NPA's projections are partly driven by private-sector infrastructure investments like BUA's, signaling a shift toward capacity expansion to meet rising domestic demand.
