Central Bank of India reported a 13% year-on-year increase in net profit for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, reaching ₹1,324 crore.
The Mumbai-headquartered public sector lender also highlighted a meaningful improvement in asset quality, with gross non-performing assets (NPAs) moderating to 2.60% of gross advances at the end of the June quarter, down from 3.13% a year earlier.
Indian Bank, a Chennai-based public sector lender, reported a 10% rise in net profit to ₹3,273 crore, attributing the growth to robust business expansion.
The results align with a broader trend of strengthening profitability across the Indian banking sector.
In recent weeks, peers have also posted robust first-quarter figures.
