China has published a comprehensive roadmap to accelerate the development of its industrial internet, setting a target of 50,000 industry-oriented 5G private networks by 2030.
The plan aims to deepen the integration of artificial intelligence and data systems into manufacturing processes, with the sector’s value added expected to exceed 2.5 trillion yuan ($345 billion).
The initiative underscores Beijing’s strategy to upgrade industrial productivity through digital infrastructure rather than relying solely on traditional capital expenditure.
The announcement comes as China’s manufacturing sector shows signs of stabilization.
The official manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 50.3 in June, up from 50.0 in May, indicating a return to growth after a period of stagnation.
This modest rebound suggests that industrial activity is finding a floor, providing a more stable backdrop for the rollout of new digital infrastructure projects.
