Construction has officially commenced on Poland's ambitious new port facility in Swinoujscie, marking the physical start of a project designed to transform the country's maritime logistics infrastructure.

Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak confirmed that work began with the building of a technical access road, describing the initiative as a long-awaited investment for the Polish maritime economy.

The development represents a significant step in Poland's strategy to diversify its trade routes and reduce reliance on existing Baltic Sea corridors.

By establishing a new major hub, the government aims to enhance cargo handling efficiency and provide a strategic alternative for regional trade flows.

This move is particularly relevant for traders and logistics operators monitoring shifts in European supply chain dynamics.

According to analysis from the state-owned Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), the construction of Port Polska could nearly quadruple the volume of air cargo handled in Poland.
