CSB Bank reported a 27% year-on-year increase in net profit for the June quarter, reaching ₹150 crore.
The private lender disclosed the results in a regulatory filing on Wednesday, highlighting a significant expansion in its top line as total income rose to ₹1,516 crore from the previous year's period.
In the same quarter, Central Bank of India reported a 13% rise in net profit to ₹1,324 crore, while private lender Yes Bank saw its net profit jump 33.
The profit surge was primarily driven by a robust increase in interest income, which grew to ₹1,287 crore from ₹1,041 crore a year earlier.
This improvement in net interest income suggests that the bank is benefiting from higher lending volumes or improved yield spreads, key indicators of operational health in the current monetary environment.
CSB Bank’s performance mirrors a broader recovery trend within the Indian banking sector.
In the same quarter, Central Bank of India reported a 13% rise in net profit to ₹1,324 crore, while private lender Yes Bank saw its net profit jump 33.7% to ₹1,071 crore.
