Colombia's president-elect Abelardo de la Espriella is set to nominate Jorge Mario Velásquez as a member of the board of directors at state-owned oil major Ecopetrol.
The move, reported by local media, places a veteran of the private sector into a key oversight role at the country's most valuable enterprise.
Velásquez, who served as president of the Grupo Argos conglomerate for more than four decades before stepping down earlier this year, brings extensive experience in industrial management and corporate governance to the position.
