Denza, the premium electric vehicle arm of Chinese manufacturer BYD, has confirmed a £105,000 price tag for its new Z9GT shooting brake.

The vehicle is positioned as a high-performance luxury EV, distinguishing itself primarily through its charging technology rather than just range or power output.

The Z9GT utilizes BYD's proprietary Flash Chargers, which the company claims can add 224 miles of driving range in just five minutes.

This rapid charging capability is designed to address one of the primary barriers to EV adoption in the premium segment: downtime.

By reducing charging stops to a duration comparable to a coffee break, Denza aims to make long-distance travel in an electric vehicle as convenient as refueling a combustion engine car.

In addition to the fully electric variant, Denza will offer a plug-in hybrid version of the Z9GT priced at £95,000.
