Deutsche Bank has agreed to pay a A$2 million (approximately $1.3 million) fine to resolve allegations of systemic failures in its reporting of over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives transactions in Australia.

The penalty was imposed by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), which identified widespread deficiencies in the bank's compliance processes.

The regulator stated that the bank failed to report more than 260,000 OTC transactions correctly or within the required timeframes.

ASIC described the breaches as systemic, indicating that the errors were not isolated incidents but rather the result of broader operational shortcomings within the bank's Australian operations.

The fine represents a significant enforcement action against a major global lender in the region.

This development adds to the growing regulatory scrutiny facing international banks in Australia, where authorities have intensified efforts to ensure compliance with local market integrity rules.
