Dhanlaxmi Bank reported a net profit of ₹24.91 crore for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, doubling the ₹12.18 crore recorded in the same period of the previous year.

The Kerala-based private lender also saw its operating profit rise to ₹51.45 crore, up from ₹33.28 crore year-on-year, indicating a broad-based improvement in core earnings before tax and other adjustments.

The results highlight a strengthening trend for the regional bank as it navigates the broader Indian banking sector's recovery.

While larger peers such as Axis Bank have posted double-digit growth in standalone profits, Dhanlaxmi Bank’s 100% jump in net profit underscores the potential for smaller lenders to gain traction through operational discipline and credit growth.

Investors will be watching to see if this momentum can be sustained in the second quarter, particularly as interest rate environments across major economies remain under scrutiny.

The Bank of England is scheduled to announce its rate decision on August 6, followed by the Reserve Bank of Australia on August 12 and Norges Bank on August 20, events that could influence global capital flows and emerging market sentiment.
