Diana Shipping has secured a new time charter for its Kamsarmax vessel, the Medusa, locking in a daily rate of $16,850.
The agreement, reported by Naftemporiki, sees the 82,194 dwt vessel chartered to Aquavita International S.A.
The $16,850 daily rate reflects market conditions for Kamsarmax tonnage, a class often favored for its flexibility in accessing ports with draft restrictions.
The rate is net of a 4.75% commission to third parties.
The Medusa, built in 2010, joins the company’s active fleet under this new contract, adding to recent deployment activity for the Greek dry bulk carrier.
The deal underscores continued utilization of Diana’s mid-sized fleet segment.
