Ecopetrol has initiated a new procurement process for natural gas, seeking to secure long-term supply through a five-year contract structure.
The Colombian state-owned energy giant announced the tender on Wednesday, specifying a delivered-ex-ship (DES) delivery model.
Under this arrangement, suppliers assume responsibility for the cargo until it is unloaded at the designated port, shifting transport risk away from the buyer.
The tender aims to bolster supply continuity for Colombia's domestic market.
Ecopetrol has indicated that the first deliveries under the new contracts are expected to begin between October and November.
