Eni is calling on Mozambican companies to enhance their technical and operational capabilities to compete for contracts linked to the country’s gas mega-projects.
Marica Calabrese, Eni’s general manager in Mozambique, emphasized the need for local firms to reinforce their competitiveness to secure a larger share of the supply chain for the Italian energy major’s operations in the region.
The push for local content comes as Eni moves forward with its development plans in the Rovuma Basin.
The company has previously initiated market consultations for a third floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) platform at its Coral field.
This unit represents a significant expansion of Eni’s footprint in Mozambique, following the confirmation of its development strategy.
Eni’s broader strategy in the region includes strengthening its commercial arm.
