The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched the VISHWAS 2026 scheme, a regulatory initiative designed to simplify dispute resolution and reduce penalty rates for employers.

The program aims to accelerate compliance by offering a streamlined process for settling outstanding disputes, thereby lowering the litigation burden on businesses operating in India.

Under the new framework, applicants seeking to settle disputes must provide an undertaking that no further appeals will be pursued regarding the specific case.

This condition ensures finality for both the regulator and the employer, allowing for a quicker resolution of long-standing compliance issues.

The move is part of a broader effort to modernize the EPFO's engagement with the corporate sector.

The launch of VISHWAS 2026 follows recent technological upgrades to the EPFO's infrastructure, including a new integration with IDFC FIRST Bank that enables real-time provident fund payments for businesses.
