Fidson Healthcare, the most capitalised firm on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) healthcare sector, has reported a 28% increase in profit after tax for the first half of 2026.

The company’s net profit rose to N7.7 billion, up from N6.02 billion in the same period last year, driven by robust sales performance across its product lines.

The results underscore the resilience of Nigeria’s domestic pharmaceutical market despite broader macroeconomic headwinds.

With a market capitalisation of N273 billion, Fidson remains a heavyweight on the NGX, and its earnings growth provides a tangible anchor for investors seeking exposure to essential services and healthcare in West Africa.

The announcement comes as the Nigerian equity market has shown renewed strength.

The NGX closed the week ending July 24 with a total market capitalisation of N159 trillion, reflecting a N2 trillion gain fueled by sustained institutional buying across core sectors.
