A furnace explosion at Jain Resource Recycling’s plant in India’s Tamil Nadu state has resulted in one death and several injuries, the company confirmed.
The incident occurred at the firm’s processing facility, prompting an immediate internal review of the damage and operational status.
Jain Resource Recycling stated it is currently evaluating the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
The company has not yet specified whether production lines will remain offline or how long the recovery process might take, leaving investors without clarity on near-term output impacts.
The accident adds to a series of recent industrial safety incidents in the region.
Earlier this year, a massive fire at India’s Haldia oil refinery raised concerns about regional supply disruptions, while an explosion at a liquefied natural gas processing facility in Qatar’s Ras Laffan industrial area injured dozens.
