A court in Kyiv Oblast has ordered the pretrial detention of Stanislav Luchanov, the former commander of Ukraine’s 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade, for 60 days without bail.
The ruling comes amid serious allegations that Luchanov organized the kidnapping and murder of two civilian brothers.
Luchanov denied the charges during the proceedings, but the court determined that the severity of the accusations warranted custody.
