GAIL (India) reported a near-doubling of net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, driven by strong performance in its core natural gas marketing business.

The state-owned energy utility posted a consolidated net profit of ₹4,671 crore, a 96.1% year-on-year increase, while revenue climbed 16.7% to ₹41,350 crore.

The results underscore the resilience of India’s gas distribution network amid rising industrial and residential demand.

The sharp earnings growth was primarily fueled by higher volumes and improved margins in the natural gas segment, which remains the company’s largest revenue contributor.

GAIL’s ability to pass through cost adjustments and expand its customer base has bolstered profitability, even as global energy prices have remained volatile.

The company’s integrated pipeline and city gas distribution assets provided a stable cash flow base, supporting the bottom-line expansion.
