Gold and silver prices advanced in early Monday trade on India’s Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), driven by renewed value buying and a slight softening in the US dollar.
The move marks a continuation of the recovery for precious metals, which had recently faced selling pressure.
Just days earlier, gold and silver had jumped up to 2% on Friday, marking a decisive bounce from lows where gold had briefly broken below the ₹1,41,000 per 10-gram threshold.
MCX gold August futures rose 0.30% to ₹1,41,322 per 10 grams, while silver September contracts posted a sharper gain of 1.4% to ₹2,19,400 per kilogram.
The divergence in performance highlights silver’s higher sensitivity to speculative flows and currency shifts, as traders capitalize on the dip in the greenback.
The rebound follows a volatile period for Indian precious metals.
