New Zealand fuel retailers Gull and NPD have completed their merger, forming a new entity named NPDGull.
The transaction received final approval from the Commerce Commission in May, clearing the regulatory path for the two brands to operate under a unified structure.
The new entity will oversee both brands, leveraging their combined buying power to strengthen its market position.
The merger follows the finalization of the deal by private equity firm Allegro Funds, which owns Gull, and the family-owned South Island operator NPD.
The combined entity aims to significantly enhance operations in the North Island, capitalizing on the scale of the consolidated fuel powerhouse.
The move consolidates a significant portion of the country's low-cost fuel retail market, potentially altering competitive dynamics for other operators.
