Maritime trade between Iran and Qatar has resumed after a roughly five-month suspension, according to Iran's commercial attaché in Doha.
The official told state media on Sunday that commercial shipping operations have restarted, marking a significant de-escalation in regional trade tensions.
Qatar has also confirmed the immediate resumption of all maritime activities, reversing a temporary suspension that had been in place since late June.
The decision was confirmed by a statement from the Transport Ministry on Sunday, signaling a coordinated effort to normalize commercial flows between the two nations.
The restart of trade comes in the wake of an interim deal signed last month between Tehran and Washington.
This diplomatic development appears to have paved the way for the lifting of maritime restrictions, reducing geopolitical pressure on key shipping routes in the Persian Gulf.
