The Strait of Hormuz faces an acute escalation as the United States launched a fresh wave of military strikes against Iranian targets, coinciding with reports of oil tankers striking mines in the waterway.
According to Il Fatto Quotidiano, US missiles hit a passenger terminal area in Shalamcheh, a city in western Iran near the Iraqi border, while two tankers were forced to alter course after one was struck and caught fire.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a severe warning in response to the intensifying pressure.
The military group stated that if US forces target Iranian infrastructure, not a single drop of oil would pass through the Strait.
This threat follows the IRGC’s claim that the vessels were deceived into hitting mines, marking a dangerous shift from diplomatic posturing to direct kinetic disruption of global energy flows.
