The number of residential buildings under construction in Ireland exceeded 30,000 in June, marking a significant acceleration in housing supply activity.
This represents an increase of nearly 28% compared to the same period last year, according to data from GeoDirectory.
Dublin accounted for the largest share of this construction boom, with 6,107 units currently under development.
The surge in building activity coincides with a broader trend of declining vacancy rates, which have decreased in 15 counties, indicating that new supply is being absorbed by a tight rental and sales market.
