Isuzu Motors India has signed a five-year agreement with Kamarajar Port in North Chennai to handle its vehicle exports, securing dedicated logistics capacity for its global supply chain.
The pact was formalized by Hironori Okawa, Assistant General Manager at Isuzu Motors India, and Thirumurugan, General Manager (Operations) at Kamarajar Port, with the port’s managing director present at the signing.
The move comes as shippers and manufacturers increasingly seek to de-risk their logistics networks amid persistent geopolitical pressure on major trade routes.
By locking in long-term port access, Isuzu aims to enhance operational competitiveness and reduce exposure to volatile freight markets and potential chokepoint disruptions.
This strategic alignment allows the automaker to streamline its export flows from India, a key manufacturing hub for its global operations.
Kamarajar Port has recently attracted significant interest from international operators seeking to develop bulk terminals through public-private partnerships.
