Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced plans to eliminate fewer than 300 positions as part of a sweeping transformation strategy aimed at restructuring the British luxury carmaker.

The job cuts are a component of a wider operational overhaul designed to streamline the business and improve efficiency.

The restructuring follows a challenging period for JLR, which reported a decline in both wholesale and retail sales for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, ending June 30, 2026.

The decision comes as the group continues its recovery from a major cyber attack that forced a halt to production last year.

The disruption significantly impacted manufacturing output and supply chain stability, prompting management to reassess operational structures and workforce requirements.

The softness in volumes has pressured the Tata Motors-owned unit to accelerate cost-saving measures and strategic adjustments to remain competitive in a shifting automotive landscape.
