Jeff Peters, the former head of Platinum Asset Management, is in discussions to join Apostle Funds Management in Sydney.
The move would see the Harvard-educated former management consultant working closely with Apostle founder Karyn West, according to reports from the Australian Financial Review.
Peters was originally brought in to lead the turnaround of Platinum Asset Management, which was part of Kerr Neilson.
However, he did not remain with the firm following its acquisition by L1 Group, the investment vehicle controlled by Mark Landau and Raphael Lamm.
The L1 Group (L1G.AX) deal marked a significant shift in the Australian asset management landscape, consolidating Platinum under new ownership.
The potential appointment at Apostle highlights the ongoing competition for senior investment talent in Australia.
