JSW Infrastructure is on track to complete a ₹600 crore mechanisation project at the V.O.
Chidambaranar (VOC) Port in Thoothukudi by the fourth quarter of fiscal 2027.
The initiative focuses on upgrading dry bulk cargo handling capabilities, aiming to streamline operations and increase throughput efficiency at the key southern Indian gateway.
The project represents a significant capital deployment for the infrastructure arm of the JSW Group, targeting modernisation of port infrastructure that handles critical commodity flows.
By automating and mechanising the terminal, JSW Infra seeks to reduce turnaround times for vessels and improve the competitiveness of the VOC Port against other major hubs on India’s east coast.
This development follows a period of aggressive capital raising for JSW Infrastructure, which recently closed a ₹7,503 crore Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP).
