Juniper Green Energy’s initial public offering opened to muted interest on its first day of bidding, with the issue attracting bids worth only 0.38 times the offer size.

The weak opening response comes despite the company successfully securing ₹539.4 crore from anchor investors prior to the public launch, a step that had previously signaled strong institutional confidence in the renewable energy developer’s prospects.

The qualified institutional buyer (QIB) segment emerged as the sole bright spot in the opening day data, with this portion of the book fully subscribed.

In contrast, retail and non-institutional investors showed limited enthusiasm, contributing to the overall undersubscribed status of the issue.

The IPO, which aims to raise ₹1,800 crore, is priced in a band of ₹214 to ₹225 per equity share and remains open for subscription until August 3.

The disparity between institutional and retail demand reflects broader caution in the Indian equity markets toward new listings in the renewable energy sector.
