Kerala has published a comprehensive feasibility report outlining a strategic roadmap to attract and scale Global Capability Centres (GCCs) within the state.
The plan sets an ambitious target of hosting 150 GCCs and generating 200,000 jobs by 2031, positioning the southern Indian state as a competitive hub for multinational corporate back-office and R&D operations.
The report was unveiled by Minister for Industries, Commerce, IT & AI P.K.
Kunhalikutty during the 'Kerala GCC Outlook 2026' conclave at Technopark.
The initiative aims to formalize the state's approach to capturing foreign direct investment in the knowledge economy, moving beyond ad-hoc incentives to a structured policy framework designed to streamline operations for incoming firms.
This development intensifies competition among Indian states for GCC investments.
