Kotak Institutional Equities has updated its model portfolio, adding Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and SBI Life Insurance Company as new holdings.
The brokerage assigned both stocks a weight of 150 basis points, marking a fresh inclusion for the IT services giant and the state-backed insurer in its recommended basket.
In addition to the new additions, Kotak Equities increased the allocation for Larsen & Toubro (L&T), signaling continued confidence in the infrastructure and engineering sector.
The move reflects a broader strategic tilt toward large-cap defensive and growth-oriented names within the Indian equity market.
The brokerage clarified that TCS's inclusion should be viewed as a long-term strategic hold rather than a short-term trading signal.
This aligns with Kotak's recent reaffirmation of its bullish outlook on India's leading private banks, including HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, which remain top investment bets in their view.
