The incident occurred on Wednesday and involved the U.S.-owned floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Energos Winter and the Greek-owned LNG carrier GasLog Salem.
British maritime security firm Aegis Defence Services provided an initial assessment of the scene.
The fire follows confirmation from the Egyptian government that a drone strike caused the blaze that engulfed the vessels at the Mediterranean port.
