Lundin Gold has provided an update on its drilling programs at the Fruta del Norte (FDN) mine in Ecuador, signaling potential for larger resource estimates at the site.

The company released the update on Monday evening, covering operations at the main FDN deposit as well as the FDN South and FDN East zones.

The news follows earlier reports that Lundin Gold identified two new copper-gold porphyry systems at the Sandia prospect, located within the FDN concession.

That discovery marked a significant expansion of the miner's geological understanding of the area, suggesting the deposit may be more extensive than previously modeled.

Fruta del Norte is Lundin Gold's wholly owned flagship asset.

Any upward revision to resource estimates at FDN would directly impact the mine's life-of-mine plan and long-term production guidance.
