Malaysia has been confirmed as the host nation for the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, with the event set to take place at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from October 2 to 4.
The decision marks a historic first for the sport, as it is the inaugural instance of a Grand Prix being relocated to a different country after the original race was cancelled.
The cancellation of the Bahrain event was attributed to escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia, prompting the search for an alternative venue capable of hosting the race on short notice.
