Motor Oil Hellas has delivered two Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles to Greek local authorities, marking the first deployment of such cars on the country's roads.
The vehicles were handed over to the Municipality of Loutraki–Perachora–Agioi Theodoroi and the Olympic Road authority as part of the TRIERES – Greek Hydrogen Valley project, which is supported by European funding.
The handover included the first refueling of the vehicles, signaling the operational readiness of the initial hydrogen infrastructure tied to the initiative.
The move underscores Motor Oil's strategic pivot toward alternative fuels and hydrogen infrastructure, aligning with broader European decarbonization goals.
While the delivery of just two vehicles does not represent a commercial-scale rollout, it serves as a proof-of-concept for hydrogen mobility in Greece.
The project aims to develop a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem, including production, storage, and refueling stations, with Motor Oil playing a central role in the supply chain.
