Mutual Trust Bank PLC has approved a 12 percent stock dividend for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025.

The resolution was passed by shareholders at the bank’s 27th annual general meeting, which was held virtually on July 15.

Md Abdul Malek, a director of the bank, presided over the proceedings.

The decision to distribute the dividend entirely in stock rather than cash indicates a strategy to retain capital within the institution.

By issuing additional shares instead of paying out cash, the bank preserves liquidity for potential lending expansion or balance sheet strengthening.

This approach contrasts with peers in the region who have opted for mixed cash-and-stock payouts.
