National Bank has received formal approval from the Bangladesh Bank to lease out its under-construction Twin Tower complex in Dhaka's Panthapath area.

The regulatory clearance permits the private lender to generate rental income from the property, which was originally intended to serve as the bank's permanent headquarters.

The decision marks a strategic pivot for National Bank, allowing it to unlock value from a significant real estate asset while the building is still under construction.

By leasing the space, the bank can offset development costs and improve cash flow dynamics ahead of the project's completion.

This move aligns with broader trends in the banking sector where institutions are increasingly optimizing balance sheets through asset monetization rather than holding non-performing or underutilized capital.

The Twin Tower project represents a major investment for the lender.
