Argentina’s Neuquén Province is preparing to issue up to USD 500 million in international bonds, marking its first return to global capital markets in almost ten years.

Under the administration of Governor Rolando Figueroa, the province is currently in talks with investors to secure funding for key infrastructure projects.

The issuance represents a significant step in re-establishing Neuquén’s presence in the international debt arena.

The move comes as the province seeks to bolster its financial position while contributing to broader national liquidity dynamics.

By raising funds abroad, Neuquén aims to reduce reliance on domestic borrowing, which can help preserve the central bank’s foreign exchange reserves.

This strategy aligns with efforts to stabilize the country’s external accounts and support the central bank’s ability to intervene in currency markets when necessary.
