Harmony Energy NZ and its joint venture partner Igneo Infrastructure have connected the Tauhei Solar Farm to New Zealand's national grid.

The facility, located near Te Aroha in the Waikato region, is now operational and contributing electricity to the national supply.

The 182-hectare project is the largest solar farm in New Zealand.

Once fully ramped up by October, it is expected to generate enough power to supply approximately 35,000 households.

The connection marks a tangible milestone in the country's transition toward renewable energy sources, adding substantial baseload capacity to the grid.

This development comes as New Zealand's energy sector sees increased consolidation and investment.
