The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kano State Command, has arrested two suspected vandals in separate operations in Kumbotso and Nassarawa Local Government Areas of the state. The State Commandant, Mohammed Agalama, confirmed the arrests while briefing journalists at the command headquarters in Kano on Monday. He said, "Our operatives arrested two suspected vandals in separate intelligence-led operations carried out at Panshekara in Kumbotso Local Government Area and Yankaba in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State." Agalama said the operational success resulted from the command's sustained efforts to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across the state's 44 local government areas. According to the commandant, the recovered items were believed to have been illegally removed from public infrastructure. Agalama said the arrests demonstrated the command's commitment to combating vandalism and other economic crimes that threaten national development. He added that investigations were ongoing to uncover other members of the criminal syndicates, after which the suspects would be charged in court. The NSCDC boss urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to safeguard the nation's critical national assets and infrastructure.
