Nordea has appointed Jacob Spens as its new head of equities, recruiting the executive from UBS to lead the bank’s equity sales and trading division.
The move signals a continued effort by the Nordic lender to strengthen its investment banking capabilities and compete more aggressively in the regional capital markets.
Spens joins Nordea from UBS, where he held a senior role in the bank’s investment division.
His appointment comes as Nordea seeks to deepen its expertise in equity markets, a key growth area for the bank’s corporate and investment banking arm.
The hiring reflects the bank’s broader strategy to enhance its service offering to institutional clients and capture greater market share in Nordic and Baltic equities.
The leadership change aligns with Nordea’s ongoing strategic initiatives.
