ISLAMABAD - The Taxpayers' Services Wing of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) conducted a Tax Awareness Session at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Islamabad, as part of its ongoing Tax Awareness Outreach Programme aimed at promoting voluntary tax compliance and enhancing taxpayers' awareness. The FBR delegation comprised Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz, Secretary (Tax Education & Facilitation), and Abdul Rehman Sheikh, Second Secretary (Tax Facilitation). The session was attended by Ejaz Ahmed Bajwa, Chief Instructor, Ms Marya Ahmed Sardar (ADS), Ms Onsia Zafar (ADS), and officers undergoing training at NIPA. In his opening remarks, Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz highlighted FBR's role in national revenue generation and outlined key reforms introduced to facilitate taxpayers and modernize tax administration. He shared details of major initiatives, including Point of Sale (POS) Integration, Track & Trace System, Digital Invoicing, Faceless Customs Assessment System, Cargo Tracking System, Direct Port Delivery System, Reward & Rating System, and Video Analytics for production monitoring of various sectors. MoU signed for establishment of Pakistan's first-ever Centre for Industrial Innovation and AI Abdul Rehman Sheikh delivered a comprehensive presentation on income tax return filing, explaining the filing process, legal obligations, and the digital services available to taxpayers. The participants actively engaged with the speakers and raised queries regarding taxation of salaried individuals, income tax return filing, and FBR's tax collection mechanism. The FBR team responded to the questions and emphasized the importance of voluntary compliance in broadening the tax base. The participants appreciated FBR's outreach efforts and acknowledged the significance of such awareness sessions in promoting a culture of tax compliance.
