PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) has launched an educational initiative targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) in Bojonegoro, East Java, to promote the safe and efficient use of natural gas.
The state-owned energy distributor, a subsidiary of Pertamina, held interactive sessions with local business owners to demonstrate how switching from traditional fuels to natural gas can improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
The outreach effort aligns with PGN’s broader strategy to expand its customer base beyond large industrial users.
By targeting the SME segment, the company aims to deepen market penetration in regions where natural gas infrastructure is increasingly accessible.
This move supports Indonesia’s national energy transition goals, which prioritize reducing reliance on kerosene and wood for cooking and heating.
The initiative comes as PGN continues to roll out new supply connections across Java.
