PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) has begun supplying natural gas to a new bicycle manufacturing facility in Semarang, Central Java.
The state-owned energy distributor, a subsidiary of Pertamina, confirmed that its Semarang area office officially connected the plant to the grid, delivering an initial volume of 50,000 cubic meters of gas.
The company is simultaneously working to bring an additional 5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of natural gas into the market by tapping the Sengeti field in Jambi province.
The move underscores PGN’s strategy to diversify its customer base beyond traditional power generation and heavy industry, targeting manufacturing sectors that can benefit from cleaner, cost-effective energy sources.
This development aligns with PGN’s broader operational expansion in Indonesia.
