Piraeus Bank has reported record profitability for the first half of the year, prompting the lender to upgrade its full-year 2026 targets.

The results reflect a sustained expansion in revenues and a strengthening balance sheet as the bank capitalizes on improved credit conditions in Greece.

The group’s total loan portfolio reached €39.0 billion, with net credit expansion of €1.8 billion during the six-month period.

This growth was driven by all business lending segments, indicating broad-based demand rather than reliance on a single sector.

The recovery in mortgage lending continued to be a key contributor, with the portfolio increasing as housing market activity picked up.

The upgrade to 2026 targets signals management’s confidence in the durability of the current economic environment and the bank’s ability to maintain momentum.
