PKP Cargo has signed a letter of intent with the Central Communication Port (CPK) to collaborate on developing rail freight transport as part of the Port Poland program.
The Polish state-owned railway operator announced the agreement on Friday, marking a step toward integrating rail logistics into the country's ambitious new port infrastructure project.
This development follows recent progress on the CPK project, including a contract awarded to construction group Budimex for approximately PLN 146 million to build foundations for the passenger terminal.
The move aligns with broader efforts to enhance multimodal transport capabilities in Poland, potentially reducing reliance on road freight for cargo moving through the new port facilities.
However, as a letter of intent, the agreement is non-binding and does not commit either party to specific financial obligations or timelines.

The CPK initiative aims to create a major transport hub combining air and ground logistics, with rail connectivity being a critical component for freight efficiency.
