Radius Gold Inc. has signed an option agreement to acquire full ownership of the Jonco silver project in central Peru.

The deal, executed with Minera Joncijirca SAC, grants the Canadian-listed miner control over the asset and paves the way for immediate exploration activities.

The transaction structure allows Radius Gold to consolidate its position in the region’s silver sector without immediate cash outlay, typical of early-stage option arrangements in the mining industry.

The Jonco project is located in the Ancash region, a jurisdiction with established mining infrastructure.

Notably, the concessions involved in the acquisition include areas where Buenaventura holds royalty interests.

This overlap suggests that Radius Gold will need to navigate existing royalty obligations as it advances the project, a common dynamic in Peru’s mature mining districts where legacy rights often intersect with new exploration efforts.
