The loss of this route exacerbates existing supply chain vulnerabilities in the region.
Ukrainian authorities had already moved to ban the retail sale of gasoline in Sumy starting July 10, following the destruction of all major-route gas stations by Russian military strikes.
The seizure of the road further restricts the movement of fuel and provisions, intensifying pressure on both military and civilian logistics.
