Russian equity markets opened lower on Monday, with the MOEX index falling 2.11% to 1,917.2 points and the RTS index dropping to 770.37 points, according to trading data from TASS.

The synchronized decline across both major benchmarks signals continued selling pressure in the early stages of the main trading session.

21% to 2,238.1 points, while a subsequent session saw the index decline 1.

The move marks a sharper start to the week compared to recent sessions, where losses were more modest.

This latest drop follows a pattern of weakness in Russian equities over the past few days.

Earlier in the week, the MOEX index fell 0.21% to 2,238.1 points, while a subsequent session saw the index decline 1.54% to 2,160.32 points.

The cumulative effect of these daily losses has pushed the MOEX well below its recent levels.
